Renee Hansen is the Client Services Manager for Empire Medicaid Solutions. Renee began her career in the legal field when her youngest child began Kindergarten. She has been working “hands on” with clients for many years and thoroughly enjoys helping people solve problems. Renee is an integral part of the Empire “team” and assists clients from the beginning of the intake process, coordinates obtaining all of their necessary documents and communicates directly with the nursing home and Department of Social Services through the completion of the application process. Renee’s team-based approach to problem-solving stems from her academic years at Liverpool High School spent as a softball, volleyball and basketball player. Renee continues to enjoy competing in recreational volleyball and bowling and spending time with her children and grandson.
Michael Marroneis the Chief Operations Officer for Empire Medicaid Solutions. Michael began his career providing direct customer service to clients in a high-paced and competitive environment. Michael is a former lacrosse, football and soccer player who brings a commitment to team spirit and penchant for hard work to Empire Medicaid Solutions. Michael provides a range of services for Empire’s clients, including, conducting family meetings to establish a Medicaid application plan, working with the family, nursing home and financial institution to gather the appropriate documents, and completing the Medicaid application process by ensuring smooth delivery and communication with the local Department of Social Services processing the application. Michael assists families and nursing homes in completing every step of the Medicaid application process. In his spare time, Michael enjoys competitive video gaming and collecting valuable sports memorabilia.
Anthony A. Marrone
Anthony A. Marrone, II, Esq., is the President and General Counsel for Empire Medicaid Solutions. Anthony A. Marrone II focuses his practice and regularly appears in the news and gives public presentations in the areas of elder law, Medicaid, trust and estates, guardianships, and special needs planning.
His elder law practice focuses on Medicaid pre-planning including the use of trusts to assist clients in protecting assets in advance of incurring long-term care expenses. Mr. Marrone also provides crisis planning to clients who are already in the nursing home and have not implemented an advance plan. Even for these clients, Mr. Marrone is able to preserve a significant portion of their assets. Mr. Marrone also provides Medicaid application assistance and representation through all stages of the Medicaid application process, including fair hearings and appeals of Medicaid denials.
Through his trusts and estates practice, Mr. Marrone helps families protect, preserve, and efficiently transfer wealth. He uses the latest tax-savings strategies to avoid or minimize estate, gift and income taxes. This practice also includes the preparation of wills, trusts, health care proxies and powers of attorneys for individuals and families. Additionally, Mr. Marrone provides significant post-mortem planning for executors, trustees and estate fiduciaries, and has handled several will and trust contest proceedings.
Mr. Marrone’s guardianship and special needs planning practice includes guardianship applications for disabled minors and adults, both with mental and physical impairments. Additionally, Mr. Marrone regularly prepares trusts for individuals with special needs and clients receiving large settlements seeking to preserve government benefit eligibility. This practice includes comprehensive representation in any legal proceedings and interfacing with Department of Social Services, Social Security Administration and other government agencies to coordinate benefits.
Prior to founding The Marrone Law Firm, P.C., Mr. Marrone practiced in the Estate and Elder Law department of a regional Upstate New York law firm.
